Last night at 9:06pm Engine 64-5 responded immediately at dispatch with a crew of 4 to assist Berks Station 49 on a large brush fire in the area of Quarry Road, Berks County. Engine 64-5 shuttled a total of 15,000 gallons of water while its crew assisted with fire suppression at the scene. Deputy 64 was in charge of water supply operations. Deputy 64 and Engine 64-5 would remain on scene for approximately 2.5 hours assisting before returning to quarters. A second crew remained at Station 64 to cover any calls in the township while Deputy 64 and Engine 64-5 were busy in Berks County.
