Firefighter 1 Graduation

After beginning her journey on September 6th and spending well over 200 hours learning in the classroom, training at the firehouse, and studying on her own time, Firefighter Nicole Coretti graduated from the Chester County Department of Emergency Services Fall 2023 Firefighter 1 Academy as an exemplary member of Class #2391013 on Tuesday December 12th 2023. Nicole spent many of these hours at the Chester County Public Safety Training Campus learning the knowledge and skills needed to safely and effectively fulfill both the physical and mental demands of becoming a firefighter. During her time here she received instruction in a wide variety of emergency mitigation tactics, extending far beyond structural firefighting - encompassing topics such as basic life support, wildland firefighting, and responding to hazardous materials incidents.

Nicole is currently employed by the Chester County Department of Emergency Services where she works tirelessly as a 911 Operator and Police Dispatcher. This means in order to achieve her goal of becoming a Nationally Registered Firefighter she sought out time between her rotating day and night shifts helping those in crisis to invest even more time into aiding the members of her community in their times of dire need. Often times this meant her attendance in the classroom or at the Tactical Village immediately before working a 12 hour night shift, or her reporting directly to class after working a 12 hour day shift. Despite this demanding schedule, she maintained a level of professionalism one would expect from the voice of reason on the other end of the phone when a member of the public dials 911.

Nicole is a prime example of what our community should expect from a member of the fire service. She is the embodiment of dedication and resilience, a harbinger of public safety and security, but moreover a perfect example of what self-discipline and a sense of duty to the fire service looks like. Her expeditious success in this endeavor is a testament to her unwavering dedication to help all those in need, regardless of the time of day, lack of sleep, or state of emergency. Any member of our community can safely rely on her to answer the call for help.

We are extremely proud to welcome Nicole Coretti in as our newest firefighter on duty.

Congratulations Nicole!
