The members of the Norco Fire Company have had a eventful weekend, it started off in the late evening of Thursday June 13th. Station 64 and mutual aid companies responded to the 1200 block of East Schuylkill Road for the report of a house fire. Engine 64-5 turned out within minutes with a crew of four, police on location advised there was a working fire with the report of someone trapped. Units from Pottstown and Norco arrived simultaneously, deployed 2 hand lines, and did an aggressive search. The fire was placed under control a little after 9PM.
Saturday brought an auto accident in the late evening on westbound 422 and an automatic alarm.
Father’s Day stayed demanding with multiple dispatches and a strong response. Station 64 and mutual aid were dispatched to the 1400 block of East Schuylkill Road for a reported kitchen fire. Engine 64-2 was on the street shortly after dispatch, and along with first arriving chiefs. No fire was found in the apartment at time of arrival. Members ventilated and returned available.
Tower 64 was later dispatched to assist Pottstown Fire Department with a building fire in the 300 block of High Street. Borough units arrived to find a trash fire with minimal extension. The 64 crew helped wrap up the scene and cleared up. As the crew returned to the station, units were re-dispatched to the 300 block of Apple Street in Pottstown. Units arrived and found no issue and returned available.
Norco fire had a turnout of over 15 members for all 4 building fire responses.
