On Saturday, Station 64 was alerted to assist Berks County station 49 & 6 on a reported barn fire in the 6300 block of Boyertown Pike, Amity Township. First arriving units had smoke showing from a 60ft x 200ft commercial building and quickly requested more units to assist. Engine 64-5 (Crew of 5) made the response. Engine 64-5 stood by on the hard road with other tankers to supply water to the scene while its crew assisted as the Rapid Intervention Team. 64 units would remain on scene for approximately 1 hour. Engine 64-2 (Crew of 4) stood by in station in case of a second emergency.
